Have you experienced a defining career moment, a mentor who changed your path, or a leadership or health practice that made a lasting impact? HBA Talks at the 2025 HBA European Leadership Summit (ELS) is your opportunity to share your experiences on a global stage.
In these fast-paced, 3- to 5-minute talks on the mainstage, selected speakers will bring to life the essence of Creating Women Leaders for Life—the HBA’s vision that reflects both the career journey of women leaders from pipeline to retirement as well as the critical role women play in advancing health equity.
We are looking for powerful stories of pivotal mentors and allies, game-changing leadership practices, personal career milestones, and the intersection of health, equity, and leadership. If you have an insight or experience that can inspire or empower others, this is your moment to take the stage.

HBA Talks Overview
Length of Talks: 3 to 5 minutes per speaker
Format: Each session will consist of a short talk accompanied by a slide deck or visual aid.

- Pivotal People: Women Leaders and Allies Who Made a Difference
Share a story about a mentor, sponsor, or ally who shaped your career or growth trajectory. - Small Actions, Big Impact: Game-Changing Practices in Leadership
Highlight a simple yet powerful habit, mindset shift, or strategy that has significantly influenced leadership and workplace success. - Health, Equity, and Leadership: Stories That Shape Our Future
Discuss a personal or professional experience related to women’s health, health equity, or advocating for inclusive healthcare leadership. - Defining Moments: Career Milestones That Made You Stronger
Reflect on a proud moment, challenge, or breakthrough that shaped your journey as a leader or transformed your perspective.
Call for Proposals
We are now accepting applications for HBA Talks through 5 April 2025.
Submission Requirements:
- Biography (150-word max)
- High Resolution Headshot: 300dpi in .jpeg or .png format (For a quick guide to ensure your image is the appropriate resolution, click here.)

- Defining Moments
- Presentation Proposal (max 300 words): - Provide a brief description of your proposed presentation, including an overview of the key points you will cover and how they relate to the HBA’s vision – Creating Women Leaders for Life.
- Optional Supporting Materials (e.g., reference letter, slide deck, link to video, and/or any other relevant document)

Selection Process
Review Committee: A review committee comprised of HBA staff and Member Leaders will evaluate all submitted proposals.
Criteria: Proposals will be evaluated based on relevance to the conference theme, clarity of message, originality, and potential impact.
Notification: Speakers whose proposals are selected will be announced on 30 April.
Speaker Requirements
Upon selection, HBA Talks speakers will be required to provide the following:
- Speaker Agreement: Speakers must submit a signed speaker agreement outlining their commitment to the conference guidelines and deadlines, as well as affirming their agreement to grant HBA permissions regarding promotion, recording, and capturing images and quotes from the event.
- Presentation Preparation: Speakers are responsible for preparing a concise and engaging presentation that adheres to the allocated time limit.
- Tech Check: Speakers must participate in an onsite tech rehearsal at an agreed-upon time that will be determined in advance of the conference.
